Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated Afterschool Program Coordinator (Independent Contractor) to lead our afterschool program and create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where students can thrive. The coordinator is responsible for daily program operations, instructor coordination, activity planning, and strong collaboration with families, schools, and community partners. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, energetic leader with a passion for youth development and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations, ensuring a structured, positive, and inclusive environment.
• Recruit, onboard, and coordinate program instructors and volunteers.
• Develop and implement schedules and enrichment activities that support academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Monitor student attendance and academic progress, maintain program records, and prepare reports as required.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school personnel.
• Manage program budget, supplies, and resources responsibly.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
• Plan and coordinate special events and family engagement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, Recreation, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with children and youth in educational or recreational settings.
• Knowledge of child/youth development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with technology, including email, scheduling, and record-keeping systems.

Requirements

• Must be able to work as an independent contractor (not an employee).
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Flexible availability to meet program needs (no set daily schedule; hours may vary depending on activities and events).
