Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking to fill the position of Cable Assembler I. The Cable Assembler I will support the effort of our production goals by performing assembly operations to Remote Weapon Stations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform Electro-Mechanical assembly operations using basic hand tools and test equipment following step by step work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems using wiring schematics, deficiencies and concerns in supplied and internally manufactured materials.
  • Document deficiencies in database.
  • Report progress and discrepancies to Cables Lead.
  • Support and participate in training and cross-training.

EDUCATION: 

  • High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year of experience assembling equipment in a production manufacturing environment.

OTHER POSITION CONSIDERATIONS:

J-STD-001 Certification (soldering) and IPC-620 Technician Certification preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are necessary. Previous auto mechanic experience is a plus!
