Working Student Software Testing & Security at Mercedes-Benz Group AG

As part of the Safety and Security department of Mercedes-Benz AG, Research & Development, the core tasks of the Standard Security Technologies team is to provide security against cyber attacks. In a cross-sectional function, the team is responsible for the design, implementation and safeguarding of central mechanisms for protecting vehicle architectures against external attacks.

These challenges await you:

• Setting up a test environment for onboard car IT security software

• Traffic generation for communication-based testing of security software

• Review of test specifications

• Validation of security test SW vs. test specification

• Development of test software in C, C++, Java, CAPL, Python

• Documentation

• Prototypical implementation of security mechanisms
  
  

Working student activity can begin in November 2025.

• Studies in the field of computer science or comparable

• Very good knowledge of German or English

• Extensive knowledge of SW development and experience with SW engineering processes

• Very good programming skills (esp. embedded C, C++,Python, CAPL, Java )

• Knowledge of embedded systems and automotive electronics, especially vehicle networking (Ethernet, CAN, Flexray, LIN) and automotive standards (AUTOSAR, UDS, etc.) including state-of-the-art development tools (CANoe, DaVinci, etc.)

• Knowledge and experience with agile software processes as well as automated software development (CI/CD)

• Analytical, strategic and innovative thinking skills

• Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and cooperation in an international working environment
