Execute targeted recruitment workshops to fully enroll a minimum of 200 participants in the MEOC program and 150 students from Caribou school district.  Provide academic, career, educational counseling, and academic support, through high school graduation, the admissions and financial aid application process. Position will be located at Caribou High School 308 Sweden Street, Caribou, ME. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $32,000 to $42,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in counseling, education, social work or related field 
  • Two years previous experience relating to and working with disadvantaged adults, schools and community agencies
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently of direct supervision 
  • Ability to work simultaneously with multiple projects, deadlines, and agencies 
  • Ability to travel extensively within the project service area normally requiring a driver’s license.  

Preferred:

  • Preference is given to individuals who have succeeded in overcoming the disadvantages of circumstances like those the population of the project serves.
  • Basic computer proficiency
