Responsibilities
- Greet, register, and check patients in and out
- Verify insurance, collect copays, process payments, and obtain insurance authorizations
- Prepares patients by reviewing their medical history and taking vitals
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Physician
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Document patient information utilizing electronic medical records
- Assists in scheduling patient appointments
- Follow the guidelines of HIPAA in maintaining patient confidentiality
- Perform additional administrative duties and projects as needed
Requirements & Skills
- License(s): Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required!
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and computer skills
- Display exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Medical office experience preferred
- Allscripts PM/EMR knowledge preferred
