The Tax & Insurance Analyst ensures that the Company is complying with all external regulatory requirements, as well as internal Company policies and procedures and oversees any issues that arise within the Company that relate to compliance. The role is critical to maintaining commercial clarity, protecting profitability and compliance across projects.
Our Analyst’s contributions to the team include:
- This individual will be the subject matter expert for the company in Sales and Use Tax Determinations for Customer, Supplier or Vendor based invoices. Research, Applying or Challenging tax dollar inflows and outflows of sales and use taxes.
- Research and File Resale and Tax Exemption Certificates where applicable.
- Will assist outside service tax consultants for filings and ad hoc requests. Ensures accurate and timely filing of all tax returns, to include Sales and Use Tax, Corporate Income Tax, City and County Business Tax, and payroll withholding tax
- Develops and periodically reviews and updates Standards of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
- Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the inhiation of investigative procedures; collaborates with other departments for investigation and resolution of compliance issues; develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations.
- Manages, administers, and ensures proper Contracting Licensing for all projects and jurisdictions in which work is performed; includes review of all local City and County licensing requirements, to include Contractor License, Business License, and Tax License (sales and corporate), prior to starting a project in that jurisdiction.
Financial Strategy and Performance Oversight
- Ensure commercial alignment between project financial models and contractual structures.
- Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control related to deal structures and project execution from a Tax, Bonding and Insurance standpoint.
- Lead coordination with third-party funders on structuring, diligence, reporting, and relationship management.
Corporate Compliance, Bonding and Insurance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Manages and administers the Corporate Bonding Program; maintains accurate records of current bond exposure overseas and actively manages the Bonding of subcontractors to mitigate risk.
- Evaluates risk, reviews policies and monitors procedures to eliminate risk associated with the
- Develops and manages the Company insurance program to include developing insurance strategies for each policy in the program, developing risk mitigation, reduction and transfer strategies, ensuring adequate levels of coverage for each policy, overseeing selection and performance of carriers (with assistance from broker).
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all insurance claims, administration and reporting of open claims, and providing recommendations to Safety and Corp Operations on front line risk mitigation tactics based on claim histories and exposures
- Supports the subcontractor selection process; reviews contract’s, ensures Company protection and seeks methods for risk mitigation.
- Connects and collaborates with Safety to ensure employees and subcontractors work in compliance with all safety policies and requirements.
- In collaboration with IT, ensures the security of Company and Customer data transmitted and/or stored electronically.
Core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Tax or in an accounting dept.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, contract management systems, and ERP tools.
- Analytical thinking: ability to scrutinize and break down facts; thinks in a thoughtful and discerning way to solve problems, analyzes data, and recalls and uses information.

- Communication: demonstrated ability to communicate across all ‘levels’ of organization
Schedule and Travel
- Full-Time – Hybrid schedule, 1-2 days a week in Office (Malta, NY)
- 0-15% travel as required
