Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and outgoing Community Engagement Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This individual will serve as a key liaison between our organization and the broader community, helping to strengthen partnerships, advocate for client needs, and maintain a strong presence in local networks. The ideal candidate is deeply connected to the community, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about building meaningful relationships that support our mission and enhance client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Representation:
- Attend coalition and community meetings to represent the organization’s mission, values, and services.
- Serve as a spokesperson and community advocate for the organization.
- Partnership Development:
- Engage with existing partners to strengthen ongoing collaborations.
- Identify and cultivate new partnerships and community resources that align with organizational goals.
- Client Support & Referrals:
- Collaborate with case management team to stay informed on client needs.
- Suggest and facilitate community-based referrals and resources for clients.
- Communication & Outreach:
- Maintain a strong pulse on local events, issues, and initiatives relevant to the organization and its clients.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to internal teams regarding community trends, needs, and opportunities.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal staff to ensure community engagement efforts are aligned with organizational priorities.
- Support outreach strategies to improve community visibility and engagement.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or related fields.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking publicly and representing the organization in diverse settings.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local community resources, coalitions, and service providers.
- Experience working in social services or case management (preferred).
- Cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse populations we serve.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Work Environment:
- This position may involve occasional evening or weekend events.
- Local travel will be required to attend community meetings and partner sites.
- Hybrid work environment may be available depending on organizational needs.
