Responsible to the enterprise email manager in the Church Communication Department, this role ensures that communications from the Church to local leaders or members worldwide are crafted and delivered in a timely manner and according to Church communication strategies and best practices. This position helps departments with the process and approvals to make sure the channel is used at the right time, for the right audiences, with the right content published.
Responsibilities
- As part of the Church Communication Department, this role interfaces regularly with sponsoring departments, Correlation, Publishing Services, translation, area office personnel, and others to appropriately manage communications to local leaders [or members] worldwide.
- Works with stakeholders to ensure messages are crafted according to Church communication strategies and best practices, are calendared and coordinated with other communications and channels, and clearly communicate relevant information to the right audiences, in a timely manner, without creating undue burden on recipients, and considering adaptations that may be needed in geographic areas.
- Under general direction, acts on own initiative, proactively ensuring that needed functions are handled in a professional and timely manner. Uses good judgment to resolve most issues, escalating more complicated issues to the appropriate individuals.
- Provides reports to stakeholders about the delivery and effectiveness of their communications. Proactively evaluates performance of communications, offers insights and recommendations, and continually works to test and improve communications over time.
- Actively gains an understanding of the communication systems, data, and processes being used to distribute communications and makes recommendations to streamline and improve."
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 2 years of experience in communication, marketing, or related field.
- Strong writing, communication, and editing skills, with solid attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage many competing objectives under tight deadlines.
- Requires a broad knowledge of the structure, functions, and key personnel in various departments and a good understanding of gospel principles and Church organization, policies, and practices.
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
