Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and LiveNation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Opening Summer of 2026, COTA’s amusement park is a 20-acre theme park featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and over two dozen rides. 

Job Summary:

The Director, Theme Park Marketing is a key operational leader responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing marketing campaigns that drive attendance, revenue, and guest engagement for the theme park. This role requires a balance of analytical skill, creativity, and hands-on management to translate the overall strategic vision into effective, measurable marketing results across all channels.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Execution & Campaign Management

  • Execute Marketing Strategy: Directly manage the day-to-day execution of the comprehensive marketing strategy developed in alignment with senior leadership.
  • Campaign Development: Oversee the development and launch of targeted marketing initiatives for new attractions, events, seasonal offerings, products, and services.
  • Audience Insight: Apply market research and consumer behavior analysis to ensure campaigns are effectively tailored to key target audiences.
  • Marketing Mix Management: Manage the implementation of the marketing mix, coordinating efforts across digital marketing, social media, advertising, public relations, and promotional activities.

Budget & Performance Optimization

  • Budget Management: Responsible for day-to-day management and tracking of assigned marketing budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation across various channels.
  • Performance Analysis: Track, analyze, and report on the performance of all marketing campaigns using key data and metrics to measure return on investment (ROI).
  • Cost Efficiency: Proactively identify and implement cost-effective tactics to maximize the efficiency of marketing spend.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, with significant experience in the theme park, hospitality, or a related entertainment industry. At least 3 years in a direct management or leadership capacity.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required. MBA is a plus
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to execute and manage successful, data-driven marketing campaigns.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong ability to interpret marketing analytics, consumer data, and performance metrics to adjust campaigns.
  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication, delegation, and leadership skills required to motivate staff and clearly present campaign results and plans.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of current consumer behavior trends and a passion for the theme park industry.
  • Work Ethic: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet strict deadlines under pressure.

 Work Environment:

  • Events may be in an outdoor setting with movement between temporary structures, buildings, and different terrains.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate however, during events, the noise level may be loud.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
