We’re partnering with an eCommerce business that has quietly built one of the most effective in-house teams in the wine sector. This is a company where merchandising decisions shape what customers discover and buy across APAC.

With tight collaboration between Marketing and the wine buying team, they’re hiring a Wine Merchandiser (Entry Level) to create compelling offers, forecast volumes, protect margins, and keep stock flowing across the APAC region. You’ll report to the Head of Wine.

The team is practical, analytical, and open to ideas. The right person won’t just assemble offers — you’ll improve them.

Overview

As a Wine Merchandiser, you’ll select wines from the range to meet promotional briefs, communicate finished offers to creative and sales, manage pricing to planned margins, and build accurate stock forecasts so campaigns land on time and in full. You’ll also report on sales and margin performance to the wider business.

You’ll prioritise on-hand inventory, resolve availability or oversell issues quickly, and liaise with other markets to secure wines for incoming shipments. Quality matters: you’ll copy-check and sign off wine information in marketing materials, and support wine education at tastings for staff and customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building customer offers for campaigns, seasonal peaks, and always-on activity

  • Setting and maintaining pricing to margin targets; tracking results and recommending optimisations

  • Producing accurate stock forecasts; prioritising on-hand inventory; resolving availability or oversell issues fast

  • Coordinating with other markets to secure allocations and align incoming shipments

  • Communicating finalised offers to creative and sales; copy-checking and signing off wine details for marketing materials

  • Sharing product knowledge internally and at customer tastings when needed

This Role is For You If:

  • You have a genuine passion for wine and want to build a commercial career in eCommerce

  • You’re organised, detail-driven, and analytical — comfortable with Excel, reporting, and deadlines

  • You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and take ownership to move work forward

  • You’re proficient with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint

  • Nice to have: experience in a similar role, knowledge of Australian and international wines, relevant tertiary study, or WSET Level 2

It’s Not For You If:

  • You prefer to follow narrow briefs without challenging how to improve sell-through or margin

  • You’re not comfortable managing your own workflow across multiple deadlines

  • You avoid digging into numbers (forecasts, margins, stock levels) to make decisions

What’s in it for You:

  • Influence real customer outcomes across multiple APAC markets

  • Work with a collaborative team that values clarity, pace, and good judgement

  • Variety: campaign planning, pricing, forecasting, and go-to-market execution

  • A culture that cares about quality and enjoys what they do

If you’re looking for a role where you can shape offers customers actually buy — not just assemble them — we’d love to hear from you.
