Riverside Research is seeking a personable and highly technical individual to fill the role of Systems Administrator, capable of providing information technology support to groups performing cutting-edge research supporting national security interests. In this mid-level position, a successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to maintain IT systems in several distributed classified computing environments. This position will be located in our New York office.
Responsibilities:- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support of a VMware based environment that includes both Windows and Linux machines
- Capability to troubleshoot complex information technology problems using all available resources
- Act as the liaison between the customer and IT management
- Develop new and maintain existing installation and configuration procedures
- Working knowledge installing, upgrading, and configuring hardware and software
- Apply security updates/patches to Windows and Linux operation systems
- Remediate monthly compliance scans
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
- Assist with management of communication security account and related devices
- Coordinate with tier 3 functional roles within the information technology team as needed
- Coordinate and communicate all significant information technology changes/outages with the appropriate parties such as the customer, management, and information security
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience, an advanced degree with no experience, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to manage time independently without direct supervision
- Knowledge of communication security processes and procedures including related hardware
- DoD 8140 (451) Systems Admin - Intermediate Certification (Security+ or Equivalent)
- Active Top-Secret (or higher) USG Clearance with SCI eligibility
Desired Qualifications:
- Seeking a candidate that has at least 5 years’ experience performing a systems administration
- Experience across traditional IT stack (Clients, Networking, Servers, Storage)
- Working experience installing and configuring Linux operating systems
- Implemented STIGS on Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI adjudication and a CI poly
