Job Coordinator – Shipyard Repair Projects at Hutco, Inc.

📍 Location: TT 237, Port Allen, LA
 🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
 📄 Type: Contract-to-Hire (Direct hire potential after 90-day probationary period)

       Rate of Pay: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on Experience (time and a half for overtime after 40 hours)

About the Role

We are seeking a Job Coordinator (Repair Coordinator) to manage shipyard vessel projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You will coordinate repair projects, track progress, estimate costs, and support project documentation to ensure accurate and timely completion.

This position begins as a contract role with the opportunity for direct hire based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate assigned shipyard repair projects.
• Open and assign job numbers, steps, and work tickets.
• Review proposals, drawings, and specifications to estimate project costs (labor, materials, and time).
• Monitor project progress through inspections and reports.
• Collect, check, and organize project paperwork.
• Prepare draft invoices and submit for review/approval.
• Support clerical tasks and data analysis as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases).
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication.
• Ability to read and interpret vessel drawings and specifications.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn — on-the-job training provided.

Work Environment

• Combination of office and shipyard settings.
• Exposure to outdoor weather and shipyard conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and handle occasional physical tasks.
