Previously established and located in New Zealand since 2001, SailGP Technologies relocated to Southampton, UK in Spring 2024 at our new state of the art facility.


Summary:

SailGP Technologies is seeking a motivated Electronics Technician to join the high-performance electronics team. This role is focused on hands-on technical work, supporting the F50 fleet, product testing, and integration into SailGP’s wider technology projects.

Based in Southampton, with regular international event travel, you’ll gain exposure to leading-edge marine electronics while developing your skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Assist with the build and assembly of F50 platforms and wings.
  • Contribute to the preparation and repair of spares packages.
  • Provide practical electronics support at SailGP international events, including yacht build, maintenance, and pack-down.

Projects: 

  • Support wider projects such as autonomous race marks and simulators.
  • Contribute to testing, integration, and basic troubleshooting

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to deliver high-quality, time-critical outputs.
  • Support day-to-day operations within the electronics department.

About you: 

  • Solid foundation in electronics with experience in marine or high-performance environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of wiring standards and marine electronics hardware is advantageous (System 25, Raychem, TE, Deutsch, adhesives).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Good organisational and communication skills; able to work effectively in a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop 
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, international event settings.
  • Willing to travel internationally to support SailGP events.


Location:

Southampton, UK with frequent international travel to SailGP Events
