Position Summary
The People Systems Business Analyst will provide support to the People team (HR, Benefits, Recruiting, Professional Development, and Payroll) during the implementation of a new system (Workday). This individual will join a lean team, mid-implementation, and must be able to quickly discern and prioritize the appropriate efforts to support a successful implementation. This individual will work directly with SMEs, testers, and an external implementation partner to clearly define business processes in the language of Workday solutions and support data conversion, testing, and integration work. The ideal candidate is proactive and capable, and a highly effective communicator and facilitator, equally as effective in speaking with technical team members as with non-technical team members.
This is a project-based role, intended to provide additional support to the implementation and systems teams during a system implementation. This is a full-time, temporary, non-benefit eligible role, intended to support during a project through August of 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate cross-functional implementation meetings
Effectively document processes, policies, and workflows, including the creation of job aids
Translate business processes into system solutions/workflows, provide analysis, and make recommendations for improved efficiency
Support data clean-up, conversion, reporting, and auditing efforts throughout the project
Produce and execute end-to-end test scenarios for People business processes
Oversee and support third-party integration work associated with implementation of Workday HCM
Support existing HRIS/ATS systems and other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of related experience, to include at least 2 years of experience in HRIS/HCM administration
Experience supporting a complete transition between HRIS/HCM systems
Advanced-to-Expert skills in Excel, SQL is a plus
Strong understanding of HR/Recruiting compliance requirements and best practices (Payroll and Benefits are a plus)
Strong working knowledge of HRIS integrations and data connections
Demonstrated history of successful solution design and configuration
Customer-service mindset with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization
Ability to facilitate effective meetings
Exceptional time management skills, able to efficiently prioritize and execute
Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills; oriented towards detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot with little direction.
Demonstrated history of integrity and ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive data.
Additional Requirements
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must be able to pass fingerprint background clearance.
Type of fingerprint clearance varies by state: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 IVP fingerprint clearance card
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Equipment used: Frequent computer use is required.
Travel required:
Occasional in-person meetings may be required, typically in the Phoenix metro area.
May need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
