About the Department
The Minnehaha County Highway Department is hiring a Highway Maintenance Team Member to join our team. Our experienced team of over 20 skilled operators and mechanics help keep the county's roads and bridges safe and reliable all year long. As a Highway Maintenance Team Member, you will have an opportunity to learn and grow with an experienced team performing semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work.

Position Duties
- Operate basic light, medium, and heavy equipment
- Perform snow and ice removal procedures
- Service, repair, and replace culverts and ditches
- Repair and maintain County roads and install and repair fence wires and fence posts
- Use spray equipment to manage and control weeds
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and previous related work experience. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement and must maintain a safe driving record with Minnehaha County. Must successfully complete pre-employment background process.
