About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Painter to join our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the visual appeal and quality of our residential rental buildings in Vancouver. As a Residential Painter, you will play a crucial role in assisting with suite turnovers and performing building touch-ups, enhancing the overall appearance of our properties. Your expertise in painting and attention to detail will contribute to providing exceptional living spaces for our residents.
What You'll Do
- Painting and Finishing: Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces of residential units and common areas to maintain a fresh and well-maintained appearance. Duties include:
- Preparing surfaces by filling cracks, holes, and gaps and ensuring a smooth painting surface.
- Selecting and mixing paint colors to match existing color schemes and ensure a cohesive look.
- Applying paint with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and clean lines.
- Applying touch-ups to walls, doors, trims, and other surfaces as needed.
- Suite Turnovers: Collaborate with the maintenance team during month-end suite turnovers to ensure that vacated units are painted and ready for new residents.
- Work efficiently to meet turnover timelines and ensure minimal vacancy periods.
- Address any painting touch-ups or repairs required to restore the suite to move-in condition.
- Building Touch-ups: Assist in general building maintenance tasks, including painting touch-ups, to maintain the overall appearance of the residential buildings.
- Identify areas in need of touch-ups and address them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate touch-up activities.
- Material and Equipment Management: Keep track of paint inventory and ensure an adequate supply of paints and related materials for ongoing maintenance needs.
- Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any repair or replacement needs.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing painting tasks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and residents.
- Comply with all relevant building codes and regulations related to painting activities.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a residential painter or in a similar role.
- Proficient in various painting techniques, including surface preparation, color mixing, and application.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for colour matching and visual aesthetics.
- Strong knowledge of different paint types and their applications for various surfaces.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines, especially during suite turnovers.
- Physical stamina to perform painting tasks, including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the maintenance team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for handling painting materials and equipment.
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation
Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
