Job Title: Journeyman Plumber Maintenance Technician
Department: Building Maintenance

Status: FT Year Round Hourly

Reporting To: Heavy Maintenance Lead / Building Maintenance Supervisor


Position Overview:


The Journeyman Plumber Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced plumbing

repairs, maintenance, and installations across all Powder Mountain facilities, while also providing

general skilled handiwork support. This role ensures compliance with state and local codes and

contributes to the resort’s operational reliability and guest experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform plumbing system inspections, repairs, and replacements (water supply lines, waste systems, grease traps, etc.).
  • Install and maintain commercial fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, hot tubs, commercial kitchens).
  • Support preventative maintenance schedules for plumbing across all lodges, HQ, and resort facilities.
  • Coordinate with Building Maintenance Leads and Workflow Coordinator on ticket assignments in Limble.
  • Document all plumbing work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Provide skilled handiwork support in carpentry, drywall, and basic electrical/HVAC as needed.
  • Mentor Light Maintenance Technicians on basic plumbing troubleshooting.
  • Respond to urgent plumbing-related calls (after-hours on-call rotation).
  • Uphold all safety standards and comply with OSHA and Utah plumbing codes.

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Valid Utah Journeyman Plumber License required.
  • 5+ years of plumbing experience, preferably in commercial or hospitality environments.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety procedures, and commercial system requirements.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software (Limble preferred).
  • Ability to work at elevation and in mountain weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements 
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50lbs) 
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting 
  • Must have command of senses – sight, hearing, touch, and smell 
  • Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception 
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain 
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders 
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis 
  • Safely handle hazardous materials

Working Environment:

Work is performed inside and outside. Candidate will be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot &cold), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), moving machines/equipment, dust, wet, humid, dry, loud noises, and fumes from chemical conditions and frequent altitude changes.
