Groundskeeper – Keep Our Community Looking Its Best
Department: Operations
Reports to: Property Manager
Location: South Johnson County


Nolan Living is growing! We are acquiring a new property in South Johnson County and looking for an experienced Groundskeeper to join our team.

What You’ll Do 

  • Maintain landscaping by mowing, raking, watering, weeding, trimming, snow removal and laying sod 
  • Pick up and dispose of litter and trash throughout the property 
  • Clean and maintain common areas and grounds 
  • Perform non-technical maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and appliances 
  • Assist with make-ready tasks including painting, drywall repair, and general carpentry 
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements

 What You’ll Bring 

  • At least 6 months of related experience 
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures 
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and basic building trades 
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools 
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects 
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude 

 

Knowledge, skills and Abilities Required


  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance operations.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to perform ground maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to record maintenance tasks performed.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.


Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Work will be performed on rooftops and will require the use of a ladder or lift device.
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
