Job Statement
Performs a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual work in construction, facility upkeep, and maintenance depending on plant assignment. Keeps vehicles and treatment plants stocked and in an orderly, clean condition. Assists in completion of assigned work.
Essential Duties
- Maintains facility upkeep to include mowing, trimming, bush hogging, landscaping, painting, and janitorial duties.
- Maintains stock on janitorial items, landscaping needs, painting needs, etc.
- Loads, unloads, and carry tools equipment, materials as needed for ongoing projects.
- Operates various types of small equipment including but not limited to air compressor, hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Maintains record keeping functions for grounds and building maintenance.
- Assist in performing construction type activities, e.g. forms and pours concrete, builds or repairs fences, plants, shrubbery, rakes, etc.
- Cleans up tools and immediate job site area upon completion of work.
- Assists maintenance personnel on mechanical or electrical equipment repairs or installs.
- Performs all tasks in a safe manner
- Performs various other duties as assigned based on learned skills and ability.
Job Requirements
Education/Training/Certification: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Required to obtain CDL A or B within one (1) year of hire date. Employment subject for review if requirements not met.
Experience: No prior experience required. Work experience in outside environment preferred.
Equipment: Trucks, two-way radio, common hand tools, e.g. hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, landscaping equipment, etc.
Physical Demands: Requires visual and manual dexterity, ability to differentiate color, climbing of steps & ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequent exposure to outdoor weather.
Other: Subject to recall and after-hours duty. Safe use of hazardous chemicals associated with the job.
The Selected Candidate for this position will be required to successfully pass a WORK KEYS test.
