The Entry Laser Operator role is responsible for setting up the laser machine and cutting parts to print specifications using CNC controls.

Accountabilities

  • Operates Lasers 1 & 2 independently. Conducting basic editing, lens centering, cleaning and focusing. As well as machine start up and shut down.
  • Checks and selects proper gas mixture and speed for clean dross-free parts.
  • Picks parts for the Laser and can identify quality cut, identifies parts, sorts and stack parts.
  • Understands how to correctly use all functions within AS400 programing.
  • Correctly interprets Drawings and plot sheets to produces parts to standard.
  • Identifies material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
  • Completes all required work within expected time requirements with excellent quality.
  • Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Models Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1- 3 years of experience in metal fabrication or CNC machine operation.
  • Ability to frequently move objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to understand inspection equipment and laser hardware and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of product line assembly and procedures – Fryer assembly experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, AS400, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).
