Job Location - Silvergate Rancho Bernardo – Rancho Bernardo, CA

Position Type - Part-Time, Schedule Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 4pm-12:30am

Salary Range - $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a secure environment for residents and staff and responding to emergency situations as directed.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make hourly rounds around the facility to ensure check that all doors are secured
  • Keep an accurate log of incidents and events that occur during the shift
  • Respond to room alarms immediately and dispatch the night caregiver as needed. May be needed to call 911 Emergency when necessary
  • Assist caregiver as needed with residents
  • Understand fire alarm and emergency procedures
  • Answer all telephone calls and take messages as needed
  • When making rounds straighten tables and chairs in any common areas as needed.
  • Turn off lights in common areas that are not being used
  • Check vacant apartments and secure any first floor windows
  • Pick up room service trays or trash that residents may have left in hallway
  • Perform minor maintenance as needed. Example: change light bulbs, use a toilet plunger, provide toilet paper if needed, turn off water flow under sink or toilet if leaking or overflowing
  • Deliver newspapers to resident's door, library and activity rooms
  • Make wake up calls if requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to respond effectively in an emergency or crisis situation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, sit and stand on feet for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Job offer is contingent on the following:
