Location: 1307 S. 900 W., Salt Lake City | Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm| Type: Full-Time | FLSA: Exempt

Utah Community Action is seeking a passionate and dynamic HEAT Manager to oversee our energy assistance programs-including HEAT, HELP, Water, Crisis, and West Jordan Hardship. This leadership role is an incredible opportunity for someone who thrives in program management, team leadership, and community partnerships, and who is driven by the mission of helping households access critical resources.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and supervise a dedicated team of HEAT Coordinators and program staff, fostering a positive, supportive work culture.
  • Manage program budgets in partnership with the Finance Manager.
  • Ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations, including LIHEAP guidelines, and take the lead during audits and program reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners to extend outreach and awareness of the HEAT program.
  • Oversee outreach efforts that connect vulnerable households with life-saving energy assistance.
  • Monitor data, track outcomes, and drive program success through innovative problem-solving.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, empowering them to grow and succeed in their roles.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Social Services, such as social work, psychology, or behavioral sciences.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong case management background.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and shared spreadsheets.

Bonus Points (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Knowledge of LIHEAP programs, grant management, and compliance.
  • Experience working with diverse and low-income populations.
  • Nonprofit program management experience.
  • Training in trauma-informed care.

Driver's License, Insurability & Travel Requirements

This position requires regular travel between agency locations, sites where HEAT staff are based, clients' residences, community meetings, outreach events, and administrative offices for supervisor and management meetings. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel may be required for training and conferences.

A valid, unrestricted driver's license must be maintained, and the individual must remain eligible for vehicle insurance coverage.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is primarily office-based with frequent computer and desk work, collaboration with staff, and attendance at meetings. Occasional travel is required to program sites, community events, and training. Physical demands include occasional standing, walking, and driving; minimal pushing/pulling; and light lifting of 5-25 pounds.
