Yeo & Yeo Managers in our Tax & Consulting service line are responsible for managing client assignments and projects and delivering high quality service. This includes coaching, advising and supporting team members in meeting client and personal development expectations. It is preferred that the Tax Manager have experience with state and local income taxes for high level – multi state clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing tax operations, preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns, conducting research on complex tax issues, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Become actively involved with or highly proficient in a technical niche such as SALT
- Be involved in client meetings
- Ability to assist, train and delegate to staff
- Manage client contact
- Participate in the presentation of staff tax level trainings
- Take initiative to improve processes
- Review staff and senior prepared tax returns (all types) - with very limited review notes to Sr. Manager or Partner
Personal Development
- Have an individual personal development plan (ex. work with career advocate, principal, service line leader or practice growth manager to develop the plan)
- Effectively explains firm strategic plan to others, its impact on their role, and identifies approaches for the firm to achieve its strategic goals
- Targets industry group for own specialization and pursues applicable professional development activities
- Develops clear understanding of career development opportunities
- Acts as a resource and Career Coach
About You
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related curriculum
- Active CPA accreditation
- Has demonstrated proficiency as a Senior Accountant in Public Accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience with state and local taxes for multi-state clients highly preferred
