About the Position:

The Supervisor, Leave & Disability will be managing the leave and disability team and will serve as a subject matter expert regarding compliance of state and national laws and regulations supporting the leave and disability function.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of leave and workers’ compensation programs.  Oversee service deliverables, create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and drive process improvements to ensure efficiency, consistency, and positive employee experience.
  • Supervise the Leave Administration team, providing ongoing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service throughout the entire leave lifecycle. Drive performance standards and foster a culture of excellence in employee support and case management. Analyze and resolve problem situations and recommend appropriate action.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the leave and workers’ compensation programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of Leadership and the legal department.
  • Interpret and manage leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). Ensure that the workers’ compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases and workers’ compensation claims. Present reports as requested.
  • Partner closely with carriers on all leave cases and workers’ compensation claims. Meet regularly with carriers to review claims’ status and develops strategies for resolution.
  • Assist in the creation and facilitation of leave administration and workers’ compensation training programs.
  • Advise HR on the interaction of the various leave entitlements and the ADA. Regularly communicate with human resources partners and other stakeholders to ensure mutual positive relationships.
  • Implement policies and procedures as it relates to leave and disability.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in managing leave cases (FMLA, STD) and workers’ compensation claims
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role for at least 1 year. Preferred experience with an employer with more than 3,000 employees.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and HRMS system, Workday preferably
  • Ability to analyze information and convert related activities into a comprehensive work plan.
  • Ability to communicate and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, time management and priority setting skills.
