The work schedule is 213 days per year. 

 

JOB GOAL:

Setup and configure new hardware; Troubleshoot and maintain PC/Apple servers and computers throughout the district; Assist Technology Assistants with hardware issues

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ Degree/Certifications in Information Technology fields, or equivalent experience. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Apple (OS and iOS), Microsoft/Windows, Chrome, Linux and other operating environments.
  • Knowledge of network topology and its functionality including broadband/wireless/VLAN/VPN/VDI.
  • Ability to work effectively with administration and educators.
  • Such alternatives to the above as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.

 REPORTS TO:  Director of Facilities         

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Respond and follow up to all users requests in a timely manner.
  2. Utilize the district work order system.
  3. Maintain an accurate and up to date inventory of all hardware utilizing an electronic agent.
  4. Inventory of IP address assignments.
  5. Setup and configure hardware including PC and Apple platform computers, Notebook/Laptop computers, mobile devices, computer peripherals including but not limited to multifunctional copiers, printers, projection equipment, and interactive white boards.
  6. Troubleshooting and maintenance of PC, Apple computers and mobile devices (primarily but not limited to iOS) throughout the district.
  7. Coordinate the repair or replacement of in-warranty and out-of-warranty equipment and maintain a fleet of loaner equipment to support end users.
  8. Creation of desktop image and deployment with tools such as Novell’s Zenworks.
  9. Manage mobile devices primarily iOS with Apple Configurator and MDM system.
  10. Troubleshoot network configuration and equipment.
  11. Monitor and configure firewall settings.
  12. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as directed.
  13. Work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Technology.
  14. Remain current on industry trends in Information Technology.
  15. Perform any other related duties as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and/or the Director of Technology

Performance Evaluation:

This position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Technology based upon the agreed upon performance evaluation instrument jointly developed by the BAO and the Barnstable School Committee. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  12 months/BAO (213 days)

 

SALARY:    Per BAO Contract
