The Sajadi Laboratory at the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently recruiting a fully funded postdoctoral fellow to begin immediately, to work on a project studying long-lived plasma cells. The primary focus of the laboratory includes understanding humoral immune responses to vaccination and infection. This excellent research opportunity will provide extensive training in immunology, cellular and molecular biology, in the setting of a clinical trial. This position is funded by a 5-year NIH U01 grant. 

Duties: The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for running experiments obtained from a clinical trial, and assays will include flow cytometry, Elisa, Elispot, tissue culture and single cell RNA experiments. 


 


Qualifications: The candidate for this position is expected to be a highly self-motivated, PhD or equivalent with a strong background in immunology and molecular/cell biology. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have good written and oral communication skills and an independent ability to design and execute experiments.

Candidates with additional experience in the following skills and areas will be preferred but not required: cell culture, Elisa, Elispot, single cell-RNA, flow cytometry, B cell repertoire analysis. gene-expression analysis.
