We are excited to announce the opening of this position that serves Sarasota, Manatee, and Desoto counties. The Missing Children and Human Trafficking position works closely with the case management and QA teams, to provide support services for children who have been identified as human trafficked or are missing, runaways, or absconded children. This position provides oversight of high-risk children and requires an established presence within the agency and in the community as the subject matter expert. Job responsibilities include tracking, monitoring, and reporting of Missing Children and Human Trafficking processes, timeframes, and requirements to ensure they are met and providing support to case management.  


Key Responsibilities:

Policy, Advocacy, and System Improvement

· Provides up to date information regarding current federal and state laws, rules, contract requirements, procedures, and policies.

· Promotes and advocates for improvements to the child welfare system as related to the primary purpose to strengthen practice, improve timeliness, accessibility, quality and effectiveness of services and increase the natural and enduring community supports for children and families.

Human Trafficking Responsibilities

· Provides support to case management to ensure any Human Trafficking and CSEC required processes, notifications, and timeframes are met.

· Ensures the requirements for Human Trafficking are met within the required timeframes.

· Provides leadership to the case management team in implementing recommendations and evaluating their effectiveness.

Supports CSEC/HT youth ages 18–23, including attending IL staffing, conducting aging-out service plan staffing within 45 days, and providing age-appropriate referrals 

Data, QA Reviews, and Analysis

· Tracks and monitors data and assists in analysis and reporting of Human Trafficking cases and provides recommendations based on analytical findings, performance outcomes, DCF and CBC reporting and contract requirements, etc.

· Reviews Incident Reports and FSFN to ensure needs, requirements, and timeframes are met for Missing Children and Human Trafficking cases and follows up with case management as needed.

Collaboration and Partnerships

· Facilitates, consults, and participates in reviews, staffing, and meetings as a subject area expert, serving as a resource to the CBC and stakeholders.

· Participates in statewide, region, and local Human Trafficking conference calls, workgroups, staffing, and meetings.

Training and Professional Development

· Maintains compliance with CSEC endorsement and with the quarterly training hours requirement for case management working with verified youth.

· Cross trains, coaches, and supports in all quality areas to assist other team members and all team projects and SCC staff.

Professionalism and Other Responsibilities

· Responsible for demonstrating professionalism in all communications and other interactions with all SCC staff, contractual agencies/staff, community stakeholders, and other service providers.

· Provides support with Quality Assurance team, CBC operations staff as related to quality assurance, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as technical assistance with systems.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the areas of psychology, social work, or related human service field. A minimum of two years' experience in the delivery of child welfare services.  


Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License in good standing and be insurable by the agency’s current insurance carrier. Must meet state criminal background check requirements. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Knowledge of community resources. Must meet all driving requirements and guidelines to operate SCC fleet vehicles and/or a personal vehicle for work-related activities.
