DecoPac, Inc. is a high growth, high energy Company that designs, markets and distributes the most popular cake decorations and bakery supplies in the bakery industry. Located in Anoka, MN we work with licensors and brands to produce, sell and distribute our products to supermarkets, retail bakeries, and food services throughout North America.

The Supply Chain Specialist will perform a variety of duties associated with supply chain including purchasing demand and inventory management. The position is responsible for organizing related data into reports that are used for performance, analysis, decision making and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Review inventory demand requirements to schedule purchase orders and meet customer needs.
  • Determine production capacity needed to meet the changing demands for our products.
  • Identify and recommend various modes of transportation methods to ensure customer demand is achieved.
  • Process financial data and documents to support purchasing and warehouse operations.
  • Conduct business analysis on KPI reports as well as take action.
  • Manage and support the completion of pre-defined development or performance milestones.
  • Support cross functional methodology and understand the cause and effects.
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory documentation compliance.
  • Maintain purchasing documents, related files and records for future reference and use.
  • Arrange priorities daily, weekly, and monthly to meet the demands of the supply chain stakeholders.
  • Understand the process of improving various aspects of the business resulting in increased profits, improved product of greater customer satisfaction. Present ideas for process improvement.
  • New Product Development; engage and collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure new products timelines are met.
  • Report any food safety concerns to Supervisor for resolution, including a food package that is open to the food for any reason.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or supply management; referring to interaction with suppliers or managing those that interact with suppliers.
  • Certification such as CPM, APICS or other related is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency and system acumen in a must. 
  • Familiarity with Demand Management software

Capabilities:

  • Understand the scope of the supply chain process and related activities.
  • Proficient in reporting; must demonstrate the ability to pull data and disseminate into useful reports that support purchasing performance measurements and related supply chain activities.
  • Demand Management and Best Practice fundamental knowledge; must understand process, principles and have the ability to communicate with management.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the process for acquiring goods and/or services at the best possible cost of ownership, in the right quantity, prices and time with all required documentation.
  • Working knowledge or procurement process for requesting and receiving bids/quotes from competing suppliers/vendors based on production specifications, terms and conditions.
  • Basic financial understanding of analyzing the costs associated with a bid/proposal/quotation for a sourced product for the purpose of attaining best cost/best value for that product.
  • Working knowledge of the processes required to develop, execute and sustain plans, policies, programs and practices that control, protect, deliver and enhance the value of data and information systems. 
  • Understand the process of improving various aspects of the business resulting in increased profits, improved product or greater customer satisfaction.

Physical & Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work in excess of 40 hours per week as required. Travel less than 10%. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Mental Demands consist of frequently interpret data, make decisions, organize, problem solve, and time management.

Work Environment:

Hybrid work - requires both in-office (onsite) and remote (home office) work.
