Role Summary
The Sales Engineer plays a key role in building trusted partnerships with clients by connecting their business needs to the right technology solutions. This role blends technical expertise with consultative sales, serving as the bridge between customer requirements and Intrust's suite of service offerings. From discovery and solution design to demonstrations, RFP responses, and implementation oversight, the Sales Engineer ensures solutions are scoped accurately, aligned with client outcomes, and positioned for measurable success.
The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of technology and people. We expect this person to just as comfortable in front of a client explaining complex solutions in plain language as they are collaborating with internal teams to ensure flawless execution.
Sales Engineer responsibilities:

Partner with various internal teams to understand client requirements and design tailored solutions

Lead technical discovery sessions, proposals, and RFP responses
Deliver product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations

Provide technical guidance, ensuring smooth implementation and ongoing client success

Collaborate with internal teams as needed to ensure solution accuracy and client satisfaction

Maintain expertise across all Intrust offerings, supporting a diverse customer base

Positive role model of behavior in accordance with company values, expectations, policies and procedures
Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide thought leadership
Represent Intrust at client meetings, conferences, and trade shows (25-40% travel), including presenting to both small and large audiences as needed. Travel predominantly local within the Cincinnati/Dayton region.
Sales Engineer qualifications:

Experience in a similar role, solutions engineering, technical sales, or pre-post-sales support role. 3-5 years of aligned experience

Strong knowledge across SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, networking, and hardware systems
Positive, supportive team orientation; adaptable to diverse client needs

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused solutions
Exceptional consultative communication and presentation skills with a client-first mindset
Relevant technical certifications preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certifications is expected

Able to pivot quickly as priorities shift

Commitment to continuous learning through training, coaching and feedback

Salary and Benefits:
Salary offered aligns to varying factors, primarily to relevant career experience (3-5 year's target), technical knowledge and active certifications held.
