Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a friendly and detailed oriented Patient Registration representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for registering patients treatments, lab visits, and provider appointments, while verifying insurance coverage and demographic information. You will help manage patient flow by ensuring an accurate and efficient check-in process, providing excellent customer service and remaining sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and staff. This position plays a key role in supporting smooth and orderly daily operations within the center.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Responsibilities

• Register patients for all Cancer Center appointments, including treatments and counseling. 
• Verify patient information, insurance, and obtain required signatures.
• Collect co-pays and pre-register upcoming visits to streamline check-in
• Confirm insurance eligibility and coordinate referrals and authorization
• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Support patients with financial assistance applications as needed.
• Coordinate with nursing and bed control for admissions and authorizations. 

Education/Accredited Programs

• High School Graduate
• 1 year experience in a healthcare environment including working knowledge of insurances.

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent computer and phone skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent command of the English language
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of some anatomy/physiology preferred
• Problem solving/trouble shooting techniques
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.00 to $25.87 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
