As the Technical Research Operations Associate, you will own the infrastructure that makes research at WHOOP Labs possible, including proprietary internal and 3rd party platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own management of all operations platforms used by the WHOOP Labs team
Manage device troubleshooting and bug reporting for prototype testing, coordinating with research execution staff to evaluate impact and escalating to engineering teams as needed
Work closely with the Research Platform Manager to identify and prioritize improvements, feature development, and long-term tooling strategy based on lab needs and feedback.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of lab performance metrics. Implement dashboards and data visualizations to track key outcomes, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate and actionable insights.
Build and maintain the technical infrastructure that supports data collection and reporting. Examples include Jira configurations, tool integrations, and automation pipelines that streamline lab operations.
Support the WHOOP Labs Research Operations and Execution teams by regularly gathering feedback on any pain points related to the tools/systems you own and identifying future improvements that address those challenges
Report progress regularly and present findings to department heads
Support vendor identification and procurement for new software or other tools
Report to the Director of Human Subjects Research
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
2-3 years of experience with research operations, analytics, data science, or a related field
Strong technical literacy, enthusiastic about learning and managing new platforms and devices
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once, and help other team members prioritize related asks
Prior experience with Agile planning, Jira, and Confluence a plus
