 Position Summary

The Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator supports all aspects of outreach, recruitment, and enrollment for the College’s Workforce Development Initiatives (WDIs), including federally-funded projects. This role is responsible for executing recruitment strategies, engaging prospective applicants, and supporting their journey from inquiry to enrollment. General responsibilities include admissions support, applicant coaching, career guidance, record keeping, and documentation. This is a part-time, grant-funded position with reporting duties to the Associate Director of Clinical & Community Services in the Center for Workforce Development at William James College.

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead outreach and recruitment efforts for workforce development programs, including federally-funded initiatives.
  • Serve as an admissions counselor and ambassador by advising eligible candidates on successful completion of their applications.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with prospective applicants and accepted students, responding to queries promptly.
  • Guide prospective applicants through the inquiry and admission process, providing career coaching and counseling.
  • Coordinate interview dates and times and facilitate applicant interviews electronically.
  • Generate accurate and timely admission decisions for applicants.
  • Utilize databases (e.g., Slate, Qualtrics) to collect recruitment data and maintain applicant correspondence records, per departmental guidelines.
  • Compile, generate, and update admissions reports and statistics.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department, Admissions Office, and other internal departments to promote career ladder and workforce development initiatives, including presentations, webinars, and relationship building.
  • Recruit volunteers (e.g., students, alumni, faculty) for admissions functions.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of admissions and alumni events.
  • Provide assistance with placing students at partner agencies for field education training. 
  • Engage in other job-related duties, as required. 

 

Education and Experience 

  • A minimum of an associate degree is required (a Bachelor’s degree is preferred).
  • At least one year’s of work-related experience in community-based or academic settings.
  • Familiarity with student recruitment, student services, and community outreach efforts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and enthusiasm for the mission of William James College, including sensitivity to multicultural issues and a commitment to building a diverse applicant pool and behavioral health workforce.
  • Ability to develop ongoing supportive coaching relationships with prospective students
  • Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate well to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. 
  • Strong written and public speaking skills. 
  • Bilingual proficiency in Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, or Spanish preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, and other web-based tools. 
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
