Position Summary

Cumberland Heights is seeking a creative and solutions-driven Full Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain technology solutions that directly support our mission of providing hope and healing through addiction recovery.

This role requires more than just technical skill—it calls for innovation. We’re looking for someone who can think outside the box, craft new ways to apply technology to clinical and business challenges and help transform how healthcare is delivered. The Full Stack Developer will work hands-on across our EMR, CRM, financial platforms, and proprietary applications, leveraging .NET development, SQL expertise, and modern integration approaches to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Application Development & Support

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using Microsoft .NET (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Core).
  • Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases, including stored procedures, functions, queries, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
  • Develop and manage APIs and system integrations across EMR, CRM, finance systems, and other applications.

Healthcare IT Systems

  • Support and enhance EMR integrations and clinical workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations in application design and data handling.
  • Create innovative tools (form builders, workflow automation, dashboards) to streamline processes.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and financial stakeholders to translate needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and end-user training when needed.
  • Document systems, code, integrations, and database designs to ensure maintainability and readability.

Project & Innovation

  • Participate in IT project planning and execution, balancing multiple initiatives.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies, frameworks, and methods to increase efficiency and performance.
  • Apply creativity in problem-solving to craft unique solutions where technology can play a role in recovery, patient engagement, or operational improvement.
  • Contribute to long-term IT strategy and innovation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years’ experience as a Full Stack Developer in healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in .NET (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Core) and related frameworks.
  • Strong SQL skills, including database design, stored procedure development, optimization, and integration.
  • Experience with API development and integrations (REST, SOAP).
  • Familiarity with EMR, CRM, and financial system integration.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance and data security best practices.

Preferred

  • Experience with Sunwave, Medhost, or similar EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Background in reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau).
  • Project management experience.

Preferred Skills Expansion

In addition to the required qualifications, candidates with the following experience will thrive in this role:

  • Healthcare Data Standards: Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and other interoperability frameworks.
  • Security Expertise: Knowledge of authentication frameworks (OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect), encryption practices, and HIPAA-compliant logging/audit trails.
  • Integration Tools: Experience with middleware platforms (Mirth Connect, MuleSoft, or similar) and event-driven architectures.
  • Data & Reporting: ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, and visualization with tools like Power BI, SSRS , or Tableau.
  • Documentation Discipline: In healthcare IT, thorough documentation is critical for audits, compliance, and knowledge sharing across teams. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to clearly document code, workflows, and integrations.
  • Agile/Collaborative Practices: Communicating effectively with both technical and clinical stakeholders.

Work Environment

  • Office setting with occasional travel to satellite locations.

  • Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and/or push/pull up to 40 lbs.; move around campus on uneven terrain; sit, walk, stand, reach, and use fine/gross motor skills for extended periods.
