Qualifications: 

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum 3 years of experience in refrigeration design is required. 


Or, 


An associate degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in refrigeration design who can show the applicability of the experience to the job description included.  

  • Design and oversee refrigeration and refrigeration control projects in the commercial refrigeration industry. 
  • Evaluate system performance and implement upgrades or system replacements to reduce energy consumption and lower environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to select and design systems that align with refrigerant regulations and corporate sustainability standards.
  • Train younger engineers on basic system designs and emerging technologies.
  • Effectively communicate design with clients, jurisdictions, and contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of various refrigeration systems (i.e. DX systems, pumped secondary designs, and CO2 transcritical booster configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration control systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Excel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
