Where Heat Meets Precision – Forge Your Future with ATI
ATI transforms metal into mission-critical components that power aerospace, defense, energy, and medical innovation. As a Process Engineering Intern focused on Hot Working, you'll support the forging, rolling, and forming of titanium, nickel, and specialty alloys—playing a direct role in how high-value materials are shaped into high-performance products.
You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and operators to improve throughput, reduce defects, and drive process efficiency on assets such as open die presses, radial forges, and rolling mills.
What You’ll Work On
Internship projects may include:
- Analyzing process data (force, temperature, time, hammer settings) to identify yield improvement opportunities.
- Supporting trials to optimize reduction sequences, strain rates, or bar profiles for specific alloy grades.
- Assisting in root cause analysis of cracking, grain flow anomalies, or mechanical property deviations.
- Evaluating and improving standard work procedures, including material handling and reheating practices.
- Participating in forging/rolling trials for new products or flow path qualifications.
