The opportunity 

 

Silverchain are seeking an experienced individual to join the State Operations Support team on a permanent full-time basis. This role will be based at our Silverchain Osborne Park head office & will include an element of working from home. We are proud to be able to offer true flexibility and work life balance. We are open to working hours of 7.30am - 3.30pm or 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday. 

Our Volunteer Services Lead will lead and manage all volunteer initiatives, including the development and implantation of the Volunteer Strategy within the state. Working in partnership with operational leads and with two direct reports, the role will support the effective utilisation of volunteers across all functional areas of WA.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Lead and support Volunteer Coordinators to manage volunteer attraction, onboarding, engagement and retention
  • Oversee deployment of volunteers across WA, ensuring resource are used effectively to meet service needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operational leaders and service lines that reply on volunteer support
  • Work with internal teams to assess service demand and adjust volunteer allocation as needed
  • Daily supervision and guidance to Volunteer Coordinators, promoting a positive and high performing team culture
  • Support centralised functions within the broader Operations Support team, contributing to cross-functional activities and improvement initiatives
  • Maintain governance framework to ensure volunteer engagement is safe, compliant and aligned with organisational standards
  • Produce and maintain cyclical activity reports and analytics to inform decision making, monitor utilisation trends and support strategic planning for volunteer services in WA
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition and engagement activities to promote a positive volunteer experience

 

 

About you

 

 

  • Demonstrated experience in volunteer management, with experience developing and implementing an effective Volunteer Strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience managing change, effectively leading and developing a culture of volunteerism, volunteer appreciation and volunteer utilisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring workplace culture, processes, systems, and programs to determine effectiveness and the ability to identify emerging risks or trends and mitigate as required.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to monitor and present meaningful insights from workforce/volunteer analytics to inform continuous improvement and support the creation of governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop briefing papers and other documents accurately and in short time frames.
  • Values led, professional, safe and supportive leadership style.
  • A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification is desirable.
  • Health sector experience is desirable
