Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture and applications infrastructure.

Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions.

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Specialist Software Developer, your focus will be on design, developing and implementing software solutions. In addition to working closely with your colleagues in Chennai, you will also collaborate with Nasdaq teams in other countries.

Furthermore, you will: 

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications within the Nasdaq AxiomSL ControllerView platform.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, architects, and product owners to solve sophisticated technical challenges.
  • Take ownership of and deliver significant technical components while engaging with internal customers and multi-functional teams.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and author detailed technical specifications to address them.
  • Conduct performance testing, analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and optimizing code using profiling tools.

We expect you to have

  • 6–9 years of experience in Core Java backend development.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, test driven development (TDD), multi-threaded and distributed systems, as well as concurrent and asynchronous programming.
  • Shown experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications.
  • Proficient in debugging sophisticated Java multithreaded applications and resolving production incidents.
  • Experienced in REST API design, development, and integration.
  • Shown understanding of SQL, relational database systems, and optimizing database performance through tuning and configuration.
  • Experience using Bitbucket!
  • Experience in writing unit tests, implementing test automation, and developing end-to-end tests for robust software validation.
  • Hands-on experience with Gradle or Maven for build automation and dependency management.
  • Experience using Jenkins for CI/CD and pipeline management!
  • Experience writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code using IntelliJ IDEA.
  • Strong experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
  • A strong communicator in both written and oral, combined with a self-motivated demeanor.
  • Education Qualification : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.

It would be great if you

  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend-backend integration.
  • Experience in building responsive UIs using React.
  • Experience in developing reusable React components.
  • Understanding of frameworks like Vaadin for UI development.
  • Understanding of AWS
