We’re looking Service Team Leader – HV Electrical for Chennai, responsible for overseeing and coordinating a team of technicians and engineers who maintain, repair, and commission high voltage (HV) electrical systems. This role is typically found in industries such as power generation, utilities, manufacturing, and large infrastructure projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support HV electrical service technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
  • Project Coordination: Plan, allocate, and monitor tasks for HV electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting for HV electrical systems (e.g., switchgear, transformers, protection relays).
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Oversee accurate completion of service reports, risk assessments, and maintenance records.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, team performance, and technical processes.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Technical Diploma or Degree:
    • Diploma Electrical Engineering
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • High Voltage Authorization:
    • Certification or authorization to work on HV systems (e.g., 11kV, 33kV, or higher)
  • Electrical Safety Training:
    • Completion of relevant safety courses (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
  • First Aid Certification:
    • Basic first aid and emergency response training
  • HV Electrical Experience:
    • Several years (typically 5+) of hands-on experience with HV electrical systems, including maintenance, commissioning, and fault diagnosis
  • Team Leadership:
    • Proven experience supervising or leading technical teams
  • Project Management:
    • Experience planning and coordinating electrical service projects
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of HV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and testing equipment
  • Communication:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
  • Driving License:
    • Valid driver’s license (often required for site visits)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HV electrical systems (typically 11kV and above).
  • Proven Experience in DG, Transformer, Load Bank & Chiller Electrical Trouble shooting & operation
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, or degree in Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience with HV testing, commissioning, and fault diagnosis.
