The power-component architect (PCA) will play a critical role in developing innovative power semiconductor components (SiC PowerMOSFET) for use in the automotive electronics of the future.
As a PCA you will drive innovative product developments based on Silicon Carbide under tight timing with demanding customers in the automotive market. In doing so, you will be responsible for the development goals as part of a team of international experts. At the core, you will define the architecture of power-components, derive specification limits and be responsible for the technical release process of the final device to internal and external customers.
Success in this role relies on intense collaborations with the team and a high degree of personal responsibility. You achieve development goals using new technologies and methodologies. Furthermore, you will support the evaluation of the feasibility of new devices from a technical and economic point of view.
Moreover, you coordinate internal interfaces in development and production for the development of new products and their implementation in samples up to series production readiness. Finally, you will be responsible for product support on the development side after series release, identifying root causes of failures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor physics and manufacturing, data analysis, along with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Development of a power-component architecture: Decomposition of the functionality and transfer of the product requirements into requirements for semiconductor chips.
- Derivation of MOSFET specifications based on qualification-, characterization- and series production data.
- Selection of suitable test concepts for the verification and validation of product properties during the development phase, as well as for series production including deriving test specifications.
- Evaluation of the results from verification / validation regarding fulfilment of product requirements and, if necessary, derivation of improvement measures, as well as assessment of the impact of changes.
- Close coordination with the project manager and further interfaces to consider costs, deadlines and quality, and to assess project risks.
- Coordination of internal and external partners for sample build-ups.
- Prepare and deliver mandatory release documents at aligned project milestones including specification and data sheets.
- Support of technical marketing activities (field application engineers).
- Completed university studies (Master's) in semiconductor device physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent in education.
- 2-4 years for direct experience in power components
- Experienced in statistical data analysis, applied statistics and Design of Experiments (DOE).
