As a Robotics Technician II at Tutor Intelligence, you’ll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and upgrading our fleet of palletizing robots at customer sites nationwide. This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and travel-heavy — you’ll be the technical expert trusted to keep advanced robotic systems running smoothly while representing Tutor’s commitment to quality and reliability.
As a Robotics Technician II at Tutor Intelligence, you’ll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and upgrading our fleet of palletizing robots at customer sites nationwide. This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and travel-heavy — you’ll be the technical expert trusted to keep advanced robotic systems running smoothly while representing Tutor’s commitment to quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, commissioning, upgrades, and preventative maintenance of robotic palletizing systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with precision and professionalism.
Execute SOPs and follow detailed work instructions for hardware swaps, inspections, and system calibrations.
Follow established Maintenance SOPs to ensure consistency, safety, and quality in field service work.
Document field work, including service logs, parts usage, and escalation notes, ensuring accurate reporting.
Train and coach customer operators and Technician I staff on proper robot handling and maintenance practices.
Partner with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Support depot-level rebuilds and retrofits as needed between customer deployments.
Travel Requirement
This role requires significant travel (50–75%), often on short notice.
Must be comfortable traveling frequently and working at different customer sites across the country.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required to meet customer needs.
Travel will primarily be within the United States, with potential international assignments as the fleet scales.
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems (or Technician I equivalent plus proven performance).
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical wiring, pneumatics, and mechanical assemblies.
Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and torque equipment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to represent Tutor to customers with professionalism.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently and independently.
Preferred Experience
Prior field service, deployment, or traveling technician role.
Experience in warehouse automation, robotics integration, or industrial equipment maintenance.
Familiarity with structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
