The opportunity

Altruist is entering an exciting phase, and we're looking for a Senior Account Operations Analyst to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in our account opening and maintenance processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of new account applications, performing daily reconciliation activities, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Your expertise will guide the team in meeting regulatory requirements and enhancing operational efficiency.

Your impact

New Account Review and Approval:

  • Review and approve new account applications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify that all required documentation is provided and meets regulatory standards.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on new clients to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all new accounts comply with FINRA, SEC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulatory policies and adjust procedures accordingly.
  • Liaise with compliance and legal departments to address any regulatory issues.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Provide support to the new accounts team.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure the team is knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Client Communication:

  • Address client inquiries and issues related to new accounts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex account issues.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and client confidentiality.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the new account opening process.
  • Utilize technology and automation to streamline workflows.

Account Maintenance and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of new account activities and approvals.
  • Ensure proper documentation is archived and accessible for regulatory audits.
  • Complete various account maintenance activities, ensuring all updates are accurately processed.
  • Handle sensitive document review to ensure compliance with firm policies, Altruist’s CIP program, Securities and Exchange Act 17a-3, FINRA 2090, and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Identify and escalate risks as appropriate.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all account types and related maintenance processes, clearly communicating these with other teams.
  • Manually address exceptions and systemic failures.
  • Independently identify issues and create proposals to solve new complex problems related to account setup and maintenance.
  • Continually drive the creation and updates of procedures and processes.

What you bring

  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account operations or a similar role within the financial services industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Experience with Salesforce, Jira, Alloy, and FIS Phase 3 preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Licenses
    • Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) licenses are required.
    • Series 24 or Series 9/10 license REQUIRED.
  • Technical aptitude - You're technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech and automation tools.

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs) for eligible roles. For salaried positions, a salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
