About the Department

This is a part-time, 1.0 FTE/8 hours per day position working on the AD-12 (260 days per full school year) schedule, Mon-Fri,


This position plays a vital leadership role in advancing the District’s mission by ensuring reliable, innovative, and cost-effective technology services that support more than 20,000 students and staff across 30+ schools. This position leads major districtwide initiatives—including the 1:1 device program, audiovisual systems, and cloud-based management platforms—while aligning technology operations with strategic goals for teaching, learning, and operational excellence. Working in close collaboration with principals, district leaders, and instructional staff, the Manager sets clear performance standards and fosters accountability to maximize the impact of technology in classrooms and daily operations. Supported by a dedicated team of Technology Support Specialists and a Supervisor, the Manager cultivates a customer-focused, solutions-driven culture and provides mentoring and professional development to enhance staff expertise. Position Duties

This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.


  1. Present self and 4J in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards. 
  2. Strong leadership and staff supervision skills, including mentoring and professional development. 
  3. Excellent customer service and vendor management skills. 
  4. Ability to manage complex projects and align them with organizational goals. 
  5. Strong technical knowledge across multiple platforms, including interoperability of classroom and instructional technologies.
  6. Knowledge of interoperability of digital instructional tools and classroom technology systems.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate, disseminate, and effectuate verbal or written communication and directives to a diverse group of administrators, staff, and the broader district community.  
  8. Maintain a high degree of professionalism, integrity, dependability and maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA and adherence to the competent and ethical educator practices. 
  9. Promotion of equity and diversity in all settings and processes and a commitment to anti-racists principles. 
  10. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA. 
  11. Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. 
  12. Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation. 
  13. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution. 
  14. Maintain regular attendance at work.  Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules. 
  15. Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds and/or the ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered qualified as determined by Human Resources. 


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


Experience

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in technology support or related IT fields. 
  • At least two (2) years in a supervisory, senior leadership, or team lead role. 
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in project planning and implementation (including budgeting, staffing, timelines, and risk management). 
  • Demonstrated expertise with both PC and Mac operating systems, audiovisual (AV) technologies, and instructional technology integration. 
  • Experience managing large-scale device programs and cloud-based device management platforms (e.g., Google Admin Console, Microsoft Intune, JAMF).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a K–12 school district or educational setting.
  • Certifications in IT service management (e.g., ITIL), project management (e.g., PMP), or device management platforms.
