Hill House Home is seeking maternity leave coverage for an experienced Designer. This assignment will be full-time, and end January 2026. This role will be based in our Soho offices, 3-4 days per week, reporting directly to our Design Director.
What You’ll Do:
- Supports the Design Team throughout the development cycle from concept to production
- Responsible for creating technical CADs in Illustrator
- Manage linesheet creation and maintenance, and oversight of CADs for linesheets
- Support Head of Design, and cross functional partners, in creating presentations for various meetings
- Supports Design Director and Head of Design with inspiration and trend research
- Supports Design team with tech packs, research, and development for auxiliary products
- Supports the Design team by overseeing all sketch and tech pack updates after fittings
- Communicates with factory for proto sampling, mock-ups and trim requests
- Works with cross functional partners on fabric and material sourcing
- Intentionally translate print development into garment/CADs
- Willingness to create initial sketches and set up design tech packs.
- Ability to propose appropriate design details, including internal and external finishings, soft and hard trims and understanding of patterns.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects, and complete them within deadlines.
- Support the mentorship of junior and mid-level designers, fostering their skills and design perspectives
- Support in the delegation and direct the daily activities of the designers and team members, as needed
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
- 8-10 years of experience in Design
- Must be able to commit to full assignment term duration
- Strong understanding of construction and experience creating development tech packs
- Knowledge and ability to source fabrics, trims, labels and other production goods.
- Excellent hand sketching and/or CAD skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Willingness to work in an online PLM platform and continue to iterate on process improvements.
- Ability to interpret team feedback into actionable design action items to internal team and factory partners
- Comprehensive knowledge of apparel construction and thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Technical strength in terms of garment construction and fabrication
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow
- Team player and able to build strong cross-functional relationships
Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated hourly compensation for this role is $50-$75+ per hour.
