The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, located at the Mayo Clinic Arizona, is seeking a board eligible/board certified anesthesiologist who has completed an Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship to join the practice of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology Division. This position includes an appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Current cardiac clinical practice includes coronary bypass surgery, cardiac valve surgery, aortic surgery and heart transplantation. The thoracic surgery caseload includes complex thoracic and foregut surgery, a burgeoning robotic surgery program and a newly re-established lung transplant program. The ideal candidate would be in possession of lung transplant and heart transplant experience.

We provide comprehensive anesthetic care for surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in many specialties but excluding Trauma, Obstetrics and Pediatrics. Pre- and post-operative care is included. The department comprises more than 50 anesthesiology consultants and are spread among the 3 main divisions of Multi-specialty, Cardiovascular and Thoracic and Liver Transplant anesthesiology. We have a total of 16 residents in the program accredited for 7 residents per year. The workforce also includes >70 CRNAs an a dedicated anesthesiology technologists group, all of whom are committed to providing the optimum care for each unique patient encounter.
License or Certification:
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona. Board-Eligible or Board-Certified (BE/BC) in Anesthesiology. Completion of Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship required.
