Role: Residential Support Worker
Salary: £27,400 per annum (pro-rata)
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Contract/Hours: Permanent - Part Time 16 hours a week - (We are looking for candidates able to work a flexible 16 hours a week, these hours are completed generally over weekends and during school holidays, this will mean some weeks could be more one week and less another due to the shift pattern).

About the service
Chestnut Lodge is a 5 bed short breaks children's home, providing short breaks to children and their families aged 8 to 18 years of age. The service supports children and young people who have various disabilities, where they can come and stay and have fun while their families have a break.
This home runs term time after school clubs and has residential services that runs at weekends and during school holidays. Young people get the opportunity to relax, have trips out and learn new skills while they are with us. This is why the Residential Support Worker makes a difference.
A bit about the role
Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

Alongside this, we will enrol you in the qualifications which you need to work in the industry, regular supervision with your line manager, team meetings etc. so that you are embedded and feel part of our team.
In this role, you will also:
- Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
- Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
- Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
In the role as Residential Support Worker, this is a senior role, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator and Teams Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person.
What you will be doing:
Providing case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
Attending at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
Leading shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
Supervising and guiding staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
Leading by example with the application of Action for Children’s policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements
Let's talk about you:
Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting is essential.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
Experience and training in safeguarding.
An innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
Experience of developing tailored care plans
The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
