As the Avionics Crew Chief within our Business Aviation MRO, you will lead and manage day-to-day operations of the Avionics Installation department, including workforce planning, scheduling, performance management, and professional development of your team.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the Avionics Installation department, including workforce planning, scheduling, performance management, and professional development of your team.
  • Ensure from quote to customer billing is accurate while working with sales to produce accurate quoting. 

  • Oversee avionics Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), Field Approval and Service Bulletin based installations and troubleshooting across a wide range of corporate aircraft platforms.
  • Drive a safety-first culture while ensuring all work meets FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and StandardAero quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders including Airframe, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to deliver seamless and on-time aircraft projects.
  • Monitor project timelines and resource allocation to ensure budget and schedule compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians; assist with complex troubleshooting and system integration issues as needed.
  • Review and approve logbook entries, inspection records, and other maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including capability expansion, tooling, training, and process improvements.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of Avionics experience, including both on-aircraft troubleshooting and system installations.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role within a Business Aviation MRO environment.
  • Experience managing projects involving modifications and avionics upgrades.
  • Experience installing cabin connectivity systems such as Starlink, GoGo, SmartSky, Collins, and/or Honeywell.
  • Installation and technical expertise of avionics systems across navigation, communication, surveillance, and cabin connectivity.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. 

Preferred Characteristics:

  • FCC license(s) and FAA A&P license 
  • Corporate / Business Aviation electrical installation experience 
  • Experience working on Dassault Falcon, Challenger, Hawker, Bombardier Learjet, Embraer Legacy and/or Gulfstream aircraft. 
  • Experience installing StarLink, GoGo, Rockwell Collins, SmartSky or Honeywell products. 
  • Experience managing projects involving avionics modifications and upgrades.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
