Description
The Receiving Material Handler supports production and/or warehouse teams to enable efficient production operations, achieving and maintaining on-time production, product quality standards, low waste, and operational safety. The Receiving Material Handler may also support all warehouse and production material handling support functions, activities, and resources to achieve operational goals.
Requirements
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials and supplies
- Ensure production lines have sufficient paper rolls for a minimum of 1 ½ shifts. Ensure the appropriate paper according to the specifications of the upcoming work.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Adhere to the production schedule.
- Schedule inbound delivery trucks for receiving paper rolls.
- Record all paper issued and returned to stock and custom presses in the warehouse management system
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording the location of inventory utilizing the warehouse management system and RF scanning equipment
- Assist in the removal of recyclables and waste material.
- Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving of paper rolls and other materials.
- Transport material to different locations within the facility
- Hang paper rolls on presses as needed
- Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and conducting operator maintenance
- Back up Materials Handler as needed.
- Identify issues (overruns, wrong item numbers at location, scheduling conflicts, etc.)
- Facilitate year-end paper audit
- Other duties as directed by management
Your Background:
High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior clamp truck or sit-down forklift experience in a production environment
- Strong computer skills: WMS, MS Office, RF Guns, etc.
- Familiarity with standard practices in the Shipping/Receiving environment is necessary
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Detail-oriented, ability to balance speed with accuracy
- Always on time and great attendance record
- Team player
