In this dual-role position, you will be a key contributor to both sales and client onboarding for the Custody business. You’ll be responsible for supporting material sales growth and help expand our client base (40% of the role), while also providing exceptional service during new client appointments and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience (60% of the role). Success in this role relies on strong communication and collaboration across clients, the Custody team, the Sales team, and other internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Responsibility for delivering the new business financial targets for the Managed Funds Services (MFS)  Custody business.

  • Support the Sales strategy for MFS Custody Business.

  • Support business development activities and complete all sales KPI’s on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

  • Manage all new client activity through Salesforce and generate regular business reports.

  • Negotiate pricing for new transactions and prepare client pitches and proposals for new and existing custody clients.

  • Provide client/market insights and trends to support new products required to continue the business to lead in each of its chosen markets.

  • Lead initial and ongoing discussions with clients for new appointments, including attend meetings.

  • Manage the completion of KYC where required.

  • Collaborate with the Custody business to confirm operational and regulatory capabilities.

  • Negotiate and oversee the execution of appointment documents. This includes taking the lead on managing key stakeholders in the onboarding process, notably lawyers, investment managers/key service providers, other relevant internal areas, as required.

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of applicable regulatory developments and changes which may affect the operation of Perpetual’s custody and trustee clients.

  • Complete onboards efficiently and autonomously.

  • Update key systems with new appointments, as required.

  • Provide a handover of new appointments to the client management teams. 

  • Assist in projects and continuous improvement initiatives, as required.

About you

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (Business/ Accounting/ Economics or Law)

  • Have worked in financial services for at least five years with at least two years’ experience in onboarding or similar role

  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal and contractual documentation, including custody, escrow and nominee agreements

  • Existing product knowledge across the managed funds and asset management industries

  • Demonstrable stakeholder and time management skills

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated high performer with ‘can do’ attitude

  • Results driven and data orientated

  • Networking and relationship management skills.
