Objective: Technician repairs material handling equipment, Battery and chargers, or other Subassemblies according to specifications, using hand tools and power tools. Technician will disassemble unit and examine condition, movement, or alignment of parts visually or using gauges. The technician will replace defective parts using hand tools, arbor press, flexible power press, and power tools as needed. Technician will then reassemble unit and test operation.

- Compensation: $23-$28/hour
Technician responsibilities include:
- Reporting to work on scheduled time every day and check in with dispatcher for daily work assignments.
- Driving to & from customer location in company provided service vehicle that has needed tools & part stock inventory.
- Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment (specific Gravity fluid level, voltage and current checks with meters etc.)
- Disassemble battery and chargers, replace defective parts.
- Removes battery cells and repair industrial battery’s as needed using hand, torch and power tools.
- Hammers out dents & bends in frame, welds tears & breaks, reassembles frame.
- Repairs/replaces other defective parts.
- Repairs/replaces and adjusts subassemblies such as drive motors, gearboxes, brakes and drive chain according to specifications.
- Listens to drive systems, examines units and advises customer on condition and need of further repairs.
- Uses welders and torch for fabrication and repair.
- Install and remove industrial battery’s in and out of forklifts.
- Each Technician will report to the Service Manager, with any problems or concerns regarding safety issues, customer problems, etc. Technician responsible to track their time each day per repair, making sure appropriate customer is invoiced correctly.
Requirements
- Previous experience with industrial battery or electrical preferred
- Must have good communication skills when working with customers and other employees
- Must have insurable drivers license
