POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Demand Planner to support our mission of delivering innovative power and control technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, aligning inventory strategies with business objectives, and enabling data-driven decision-making across a dynamic portfolio of advanced technology products. The ideal candidate brings experience in demand planning within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and possesses a strong grasp of supply chain principles, forecasting methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration in the tech sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain unconstrained demand plans using statistical models, historical data, and input from Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
- Cleanse and validate data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of forecast inputs and product life cycle information.
- Evaluate forecast consumption to identify gaps between actual and planned demand and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally between Business Units, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to align demand plans with business objectives and supply capabilities.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and bias and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze demand drivers, customer behaviors, product lifecycle stages, and market trends to provide actionable insights.
- Lead product specific Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and drive revenue calibration and actionable insights supporting key decisions for an accurate consensus demand plan.
- Utilize planning tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle, Kinaxis) to manage forecasting processes.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, bias, inventory health, and demand trends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment
- May require extended hours during periods of high demand or critical planning cycles.
- Requires strong interdepartmental communication to ensure alignment and drive results.
- Functions within a low-volume, high-mix environment with a large and diverse product and customer portfolio, requiring flexible and adaptive forecasting strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, forecasting/planning software, and data visualization tools.
- Expertise in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Detailed oriented with ability to manage priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain, preferably in the technology or electronics industry.
- Experience with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis).
- Familiarity with agile planning methodologies and fast product cycles.
- Experience with cloud-based planning platforms and advanced analytics tools.
- Prior experience in demand planning within the semiconductor, industrial, medical technology, or high-volume power systems industries is highly desirable.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, data analytics, or a related field.
- Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or an Institute of business Forecasting (IBF) certification.
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $85,000 to $115,000 per year.
